Your Cybertruck Has a Hidden Time Bomb (PCS2 Failure)

There is currently no recall on the Cybertruck's Power Conversion System (PCS).

If a Cybertruck's PCS fails out of warranty, the repair is not cheap.

The PCS board is designed to convert AC power to DC power and vice versa, allowing the Cybertruck to charge its DC battery from AC sources.

The PCS also routes DC power to the proper parts of the Cybertruck.

The PCS board is buried very deep in the Cybertruck, requiring parts of the truck bed to be removed and access behind or underneath the air compressor for replacement.

The Cybertruck's bidirectional charging capability, which allows the battery to backflow power to a home or other equipment, makes its PCS unique.

If one of the AC parts of the PCS board is lost, the Cybertruck's AC charging amperage drops from 48 amps down to 24 amps, effectively halving the charging rate at home.

In most cases of PCS failure, people see a message on their screen saying 'AC charging unavailable' or something similar.

The only way to notice a PCS problem without an explicit dashboard notification is to go into service mode and look for active alerts, specifically a message alluding to PCS failure.

The RED Review host experienced the exact PCS problem on his own Cybertruck about a year ago.

The RED Review host wishes the Cybertruck community would discuss the PCS issue more to pressure Tesla into a formal recall, allowing out-of-warranty repairs to be free.

The RED Review host encourages Cybertruck owners who haven't attempted to back-feed their home to find somebody with a Power Share unit and try it.

The problem was that the Cybertruck attempted to back-feed, and a bad part on the PCS board caused the failure.

The RED Review host is convinced there is a much wider swath of Cybertruck owners who don't know they have a 'ticking time bomb' in their vehicle that will cost them a lot of money one day.
