The SPLC has been criminally indicted by the US Justice Department.

The indictment against the SPLC alleges that it directly funded one of the organizers of the Charlottesville riot in 2017 and paid for transport for rioters to go to the capital.

The SPLC is an NGO that operates without government oversight or business responsibilities, allowing it to do whatever it wants while raising money as a nonprofit, granting donors tax breaks.

The DOJ indictment includes additional allegations that the SPLC committed various money laundering crimes.
